Fabric of Ireland is a new collection of images using Irish fabrics, tweeds and wools, to depict Ireland’s legends and Iconic landscapes.
Core Irish legends depicted are The Children of Lir, The Salmon of Knowledge and home of The Pirate Queen Maebh in Mayo. Historic Glendalough’s monastic Tower and Church, The Hook Lighthouse in Wexford and the traditional fishing boats, Galway hookers, with their graceful red sails.
Small stone bridges and traditional white-washed cottages portrayed are abundant in Ireland’s landscape.
Each image is handcrafted by artist Maura O’Rourke using traditional Irish fabric to create unique collectable art images.
